So, I was banded on December 21st. Weighing 218 on their scale. When I left my house, I weighed 224, so that's what I actually use. Today, Feb 25th, I weigh 210. Yep. Fail.
I'm in nursing school, and so far this semester has been my busiest one yet. I haven't been able to have a fill, so I'm at zero restriction. I'm starving all the time & eating too much. I'm worried I've caused my band to slip. Obviously, this isn't how I wanted to start this journey. But, it's obvious to me now that I was giving myself way too much credit, thinking I could actually be successful at this.
Right now I'm hoping to be able to get a fill the week of March 19th. 3ish weeks from now. I've eaten well so far today, and I'm going to start taking advantage of the blog world, hoping I can get some help. I'd like to be under 200 before my first fill.
I can't believe I've only lost 8-14 pounds in two months. I'm more than just a little embarrassed. I really need help with portion control advice and also meal advice. How many calories are you eating a day? Per meal? Are you eating any snacks? How did you start working out? I suffer with social anxiety, so working out (or even walking) in public/outside/etc isn't going to happen. Everyday I say I'll get outside of my comfort zone, but I'm just too scared.
I NEED HELP.
Hi Katie! Welcome to Blog Land! Definitely a fill will make all of the difference.
ReplyDeleteI just had revision surgery so I'm keeping my calories at about 800 - 1000 a day. Normally, about 1200. I focus on 60 - 80 grams of protein a day.
Breakfast: Cream of Wheat, Skim Milk, Splenda
Lunch: Soup with cheese
Snack: Sugar Free Jello with Lite Cool Whip
Dinner: Ground hamburger with cheese and lite sour cream
Snacks: Cheese Stick or a Sugar Free Pudding with Lite Cool Whip
Even taking the steps at work or parking further in the parkinglot helps.
When my weight starts to go up, I go back to tracking what I eat each day. www.fitnesspal.com is good for that. Also, the support group in blog land helps for accountability. We are all in the same boat. :)

I haven't been banded yet but I too cannot go to a gym - too anxious. I love the dancing games for the Wii! No one can see me but it's such a fun workout!
